L003 - XIX Century Villa
This
is a 19th century villa situated on the Piemontese side of lake Maggiore in
the town of Stresa. The splendor of the property is enhanced by the
breathtaking views of the lake, mountains and Borromean Islands.
Countless species of rare trees adorn the tranquil 10 acre garden. The four
level fountain is one of the many peaceful retreats to be found in the
grounds. The stunning interiors are attributed to European history and art. In
many of the rooms you can find furniture and objets d’art belonging to
Napoleon, Alexander 1 and more. The
Villa has 9 elgantly furnished suites and bedrooms with names such as
Napoleon, Venezian and Tuscan, all equipped with satellite tv and phone.
Guests are greeted with a warm sense of visiting old friends and staying in
a private home for a cultual and gastronomic holiday. The
covered entrance is reached by passing through the gates and ascending the
tree lined drive way through the park to the back of the house surrounded by
trees and plants which is diverse with each season. In
spring see the multitude of colours of the flowers under the covered
walkway. The greens in summer of the trees and hedges which change to autumn
reds and golds. The winter with the bareness and snow laying on the trees
and ground. The
four level fountain, built in the 1930’s, which mirrors the water like
glass. The water escapes from the fountain arrogantly in the summer and
plays games with the light, while in the winter is calmer and more languid
which can freeze and make wonderful sculptures.
