Lake Orta is a lake in northern Italy west of Lago
Maggiore. It has been so named since the 16th century, but was previously
called the Lago di San Giulio, after Saint Julius (4th century), the patron
saint of the region. The chief place is the town of Orta San Giulio, built
on a peninsula projecting from the east shore of the lake.
Civil Weddings
can be celebrated in the wedding hall of the town, which is located in the
elegant 17th century Villa Bossi, with a gorgeous Italian garden facing the
lake. The setting is pretty romantic, an ideal venue for a private wedding
ceremony. The bride could reach the garden with a small boat.
