Vogogna is a small municipality of Ossola Valley, situated in the  Verbano - Cusio – Ossola Province, it has remained a peasants village until the  XIII century when Vogogna has been chosen  as the principal town of the Inferior Ossola, for its collocation, in the south of all the mountains villages and at the end of all the Valleys, that made Vogogna the safest and strategically most  important place.

The  castle that overlooks the village dominates the access to the National Park of the “Grande Valley”, the  greatest protected wild area in Europe. At its feet, a redecorate inner city makes live again the atmospheres of a glorious past.

The realization of the Castle is due to Giovanni Visconti (mid XIV century). The building with its round tower dominates the old medieval village that, with its narrow roads and its houses, seems to surround it.
